Galentines at Blah Blah Gallery
We are hosting an evening of art and wine in partnership with Blah Blah Gallery’s current exhibition:
“Playing House”
Mack Brim is a figurative oil painter who explores the modern feminine experience, focusing on the complex and evolving identities of women. Through portraits and still life, Mack delves into the deep connection between personhood and objecthood, drawing inspiration from the women in her life and the intimate stories they share. Her painting approach employs a soft, layered approach, ranging from expansive compositions to more focused, intimate pieces.
The series Playing House specifically examines the emptiness embedded in cultural promises. Reflecting on the melancholy that arises from pursuing a life path that was once thought to guarantee security, these paintings capture a moment of disillusionment and the uncertainty of finding a way forward. In her exploration of personal and collective identity, Mack invites contemplation on authenticity, security, and the complex search for meaning in a world of unfulfilled promises.
Alyssa from Santé will be leading a tasting of wines from some of our favorite lady winemakers. Snacks and local cheeses will be provided.
